The things we are looking for are fat deposits in areas that are hard to get rid of with exercise and diet alone. As most people know, after about the age of 30 it becomes more and more difficult to get rid of some of these fat pocket areas. When patients come in, we weigh them to assess their body mass index, basically how much fat they have in their body, and do a brief consultation looking at their appropriateness for liposuction.

Are there reasons not to do liposuction?

There are some contraindications we take very seriously. A reason not to do liposuction would be a prior history of recurrent blood clots in the lower extremities or in the lungs after prior procedures. Dr. Schneider is a board-certified head and neck surgeon with subcertification in facial plastic surgery from the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
