How does a rhinoplasty procedure work?
Dr. Schneider can perform rhinoplasty on an outpatient basis, using either IV sedation in the clinic or general anesthesia. IV sedation with local anesthesia may be appropriate for some patients. The procedure may last anywhere from one to three hours, depending on the complexity of the surgery.
Rhinoplasty can be performed using two different techniques. Closed rhinoplasty involves incisions inside the nasal cavity, which leaves no visible scarring after the procedure. Open rhinoplasty uses a single incision across the tissue dividing the nostrils on the underside of the nose, where visible scarring will be minimal. The right technique for you will depend on the specific concerns to be addressed during your procedure.
