At Riverview Facial Plastic & Total Body Aesthetic, we offer two types of facelift procedures – the traditional facelift and the mini-facelift. But many patients don’t understand how these two procedures differ from one another. In this article, we are going to talk about the difference between the traditional facelift procedure and the mini-facelift.
The traditional facelift procedure works to reverse the signs of ageing in the face by removing excess skin and restoring facial tissue. A traditional facelift can effectively address the following issues:
- Sagging skin in the mid and lower face, as well as the neck
- Deep facial creases
- Displaced facial fat
- Jowls due to loss of skin elasticity
The mini-facelift is a less invasive version of the traditional facelift procedure. Also known as a “short scar” or “S-lift” – this procedure utilizes smaller incisions and can be completed in a shorter time period compared to a standard facelift. A mini-facelift is a good way to “test the waters” of facial plastic surgery if you are interested but don’t want to dive right in to a fully invasive facelift. A mini-facelift can effectively address all of the following issues:
- Mild sagging near the jawline
- Excess skin around the nose, ears, and mouth
