How does a facelift procedure work?
Dr. Schneider typically performs facelifts under intravenous sedation in his clinic or if patient requests to be put under general anesthesia at an alternate surgery center. Patients go home the same day as the procedure and are seen the following day in the clinic to ensure appropriate healing.
What is recovery like?
During the early days after your procedure, you will be given oral pain medications to keep you comfortable. You will likely be advised to rest with your head in an elevated position to minimize swelling and promote healing to the face. Compression dressings may also be used to reduce swelling and encourage healthy blood flow. Most patients are ready to return to work and other activities approximately two weeks after surgery.
What can I expect from my facelift results?
Facelift results may take some time to see the full effect*. The body needs to heal properly before positive results can be fully evident. Your skin will look smoother and more youthful, with fewer facial creases. Once your full results are visible, they are likely to last many years*.
*Individual results may vary.
