Hi! I am 2 weeks into my Mrs. Minnesota America prep and am loving the journey so far! This process is pushing me out of my comfort zone and inspiring me to try new things!

First 2 Weeks with Clean Start Weight Loss

My Clean Start carb cycling diet is off to a great start!  I stick rigidly to the diet plan and my body adjusts to fewer carbs and reduced calories. The first week is the most challenging as my body adapts. No carb days are definitely the hardest. While I do not go off the diet, there are moments I feel like giving into my cravings. Flip The Switch

The switch is flipped in my mind and I know I am 100% committed to my goal! I am ALL IN! This is the most important determinant of success! I have a clear vision of my end goal and a strong belief that it WILL happen. I find it helpful to put inspiring quotes in places I will see every day and I try to surround myself with positive people that believe in me.

Purpose

Know your purpose! My Platform as Mrs. Woodbury is to inspire people to live a healthy life, to eat clean foods and to get plenty of exercise! Seventy percent of people are overweight or obese, and I want to help change that. This is what attracts me to the Clean Start Weight Loss Program. I want to eliminate all sugars, not only for aesthetic purposes, but also to live a healthier life. I want to teach my son how to eat healthily and respect his body with proper nutrition and exercise. This purpose drives me!!

Nutrition

Journal what you eat. I keep a very detailed food journal which helps discover where I need to make changes if I am not seeing results. Here is the journal I use and a photo of a no carb day, high carb day, and a low carb day during weeks one and two. I also track water intake. My calorie range has been between 1,250-1,800- depending on the day.

Cardio/Weights

Exercise is key to getting the results I need!  The past two weeks I make sure to not miss any workouts. I do cardio 5-6 day’s/week for 30-60 minutes per session and lift weights 5 days/week. I split my weight lifting days into 3 groups:

  • Lower Body (Quads, Hamstrings, Glutes)
  • Back & Biceps
  • Shoulders, Chest & Triceps
  • Abs are incorporated every workout. When lifting, the abdominals should always be activated!

When I feel depleted it can be hard to find the motivation to make it through a workout. I listen to music that pumps me up and keeps me going.  I never felt more depleted than when I was giving birth to Ethan, if Eye of the Tiger can get me through that, it can certainly get me through to the end of a workout! That is one of my go-to songs.

My 2 Week Results with Clean Start

It is so exciting seeing results and knowing my hard work is paying off! My starting body fat percentage was 18.7% and it is now at 15.4%. That is a 3.3% body fat loss in 2 weeks!!
